Shimmick Construction is currently recruiting for the position of Entry Level/Experienced Field Engineers throughout the Bay Area, CA. This position demands an energetic and dedicated person who thrives on taking ownership and pride in their work. It is hands on and technically challenging. The duties involve being the direct liaisons between the field crews/activities, subcontractors, engineers and management. Engineers’ careers are developed so that they ultimately possess extensive knowledge of all construction activities, have the ability to supervise and delegate responsibilities to crew members, deal with all aspects of subcontractor scheduling, and are computer literate so that completion of all electronic forms, reports and documentation that they are responsible for are completed accurately. Additionally, experienced and successful engineers also estimate work and should become Project Managers. We are seeking an engineer with 1 to 5+ years of experience in heavy civil, highway, major structures and grading.
Day to Day responsibilities would require extensive planning, scheduling, material procurement, production and quantity tracking, quality control, field layout, and initiate design changes/RFIs/Submittals/Shop drawings.
